Just a brief post tonight -- most of my energy's been devoted to just uploading and posting our entries from the last two days of travelling.
It's our first night in Namibia and we are all stuffed after the amazing dinner buffet provided by the Roof of Africa Inn. The hotel has renovated a lot of their rooms since we were here, but the beautiful main lodge is pretty much as we remember it. We've had two brief rehearsals -- one in the parking lot to practice our pieces with movement, which was challenging as we practiced during the time of day when all the staff were going home, and one after dinner in the lodge. Most of today was pretty relaxed -- lots of showering, sleeping, eating, and, of course, catching up with Tessa and Thulani, who got in from Cape Town shortly after our own flights arrived.
Tomorrow we're off to Swakopmund to meet up with Mascato! Hurray!
The Wi-Fi speed here is quite slow, so I'll save up our pictures for a post on a day with a faster connection -- I waited 20 minutes and didn't even get one picture uploaded!

Welcome to the Kokopelli Choir Association Africa blog! Here you will find reports from the Choir's tour of southern Africa (Namibia, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa) in 2007, as well as news and updates on our African Projects Fundraising program.
We also welcome a new author to the blog this summer! Joel Forth, a 5-year veteran of Kokopelli's Baritone section, is headed to Namibia to work and sing with the Mascato Youth Choir as part of our twin choir cultural exchange partnership. He is the 3rd member of our choirs to be awarded this incredible opportunity, and we can't wait to hear about his adventures.

Great to hear that you have all arrived safe. Was a bit worried when we heard the news about the 'plot' at Glasgow. If you read this, pass the message to Susan and Lauren that the Moy an d Dad are fine. Thanks.
Hey kokos! Have an absolutely amazing time on your journey! I have a favor to ask, one of my co-workers is a big Harley Davidson fan and would like it if someone could pick up a Harley shirt from somewhere in Africa. If possible, please let me know and I will send money to you asap. Thanks kokos!

As a card carrying member of "no Africa for you", another Facebook group...I am pleased to tell you that it is 30+ degrees here while you feel the winter chill in Africa. But, even though we may want to, there will be no sleeping on rooftops, no elephants, zebras, lions or Kokos...sigh....
Keep up the great posts. They are wonderful to read and to somehow feel a part of this amazing tour.

As founder of the "sad, bitter, no Africa for you" group on facebook, I would also like to say hah! It's hot here and we're going to have a big party - maybe. I hope you guys have lots of fun though!! Hug a few animals for me and say hi to everyone on behalf of the Chung's. Keep posting - I love living vicariously! Miss you all!
